Two Bryan alums recently became members of Omicron Delta Kappa, the distinguished national collegiate honor society:

At FSU's annual LEADERSHIP AWARDS NIGHT on Thursday, April 3, several Bryan Hall people, past and present, received recognition:

TANESHA LASHAWN BREWTON, resident in '001-'002 and current office assistant:

nominee for Student Seminole Award (see below) AND for the Sean A. Pittman Award ("presented to one student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the student body, university, and community with significant contributions to the welfare and support of African American students") AND for the Bob. E. Leach Award ("presented to one student who is known not only for exemplary leadership and service to the university, but also for the 'caring and sharing' attitude exhibited through this service"). Alexis GonzalezALEXIS GONZALEZ, resident in '000-'001:

Humanitarian of the Year Award from within the College of Arts and Sciences (which "spotlights campus volunteers who exhibit tremendous commitment to a cause. Nominees from each college receive a cash donation to the charity of their choice"). Congrats!, Alexis




MELISSA MADSEN (see above), resident in '000-'001:

"Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities" -- AND nominee for Student Seminole Award ("presented to between eight and 10 students who have made special contributions to the university in the areas of leadership and service"). Congrats!, Melissa

IZZY SANTA, resident in '002-'003:

nominee for the "Outstanding Union Board Member of the Year Award" (award goes to one of the 12 members of the Oglesby Union Board). Congrats!, Izzy

Also Dr. Moore, Director of our learning community, received a Faculty and Staff Seminole Award ("presented to between two and four faculty or staff members who are responsible for major contributions to the university through service to students. These awards are presented to those candidates who have an exemplary attitude toward students, who are enthusiastic about working with students, and who extend themselves to work with students").

Laina Vlasnik, a Bryan resident in 2001-'002, recently received the National Society of Collegiate Scholars' Merit Award Scholarship. She is also the recipient of the Florida Public Relations Association Scholarship for 2003 and has recently become a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.
