Additional Opportunities
"Liaisons" are outstanding residents who serve to bridge communication with the Bryan Hall Learning Community office and Bryan’s Hall Government representatives. They also facilitate events and activities based on their skills and interests, practicing leadership skills within the community through special projects of their own design. Liaisons are selected based on active participation in the learning community, and they often become members of our esteemed Steering Committee.
Residents seeking opportunities to get involved will find many events and activities designed to enhance community involvement in Bryan. These events range from informal discussion groups to film screenings and service events.
Coffee Talk: Meet for regular, informal chats with peers and faculty, sometimes with a guided topic and often with a peer host.
Popcorn and Professor and Bryan Film Club: View complex films—or those related in theme to Colloquium presentations, faculty specialties, or club interests—and join in peer or faculty-led discussions.
Bryan Book Club and Book-Go-Round: Join peer-hosted informal discussions about selected books (we usually elect a summer, fall, and spring book or book pairing); Book-Go-Round is a revolving library (pass a copy of your favorite title on to another resident, and keep the conversation going).
Service Club: Participate in service learning activities with your hall-mates while adding hours to your ServScript in the process.
Conversations... Series: Attend an informal reception with a special guest. Guests range from International Programs directors and student affairs professionals to authors and filmmakers. Past receptions have featured graduate student poetry readings, faculty book signings, and info sessions with honor societies and service organizations.
